transition to new website

A new year, a new face :D  Upon returning from China (ansa goes to China) and then my summer job (ansa at the lake), I decided that I needed a new look and a new style of photography, go to with the fact that my sister is cooking now (liku loves the kitchen) and so I only cook twice a week.  I've also decided to move breakfasts to a new location, you can find them now at ansaeatsblekblek.tumblr.com.  It's taken me a while to finalize the concept, but there it is.  This website has a new address: ansamadesupsup.posterous.com and my current supper experiments can be found at ansamakessupsup.com (2.0).

Going to china!

Well, I've been really bad at updating these past few days, and that's because I've been getting ready for my 3-week China trip, for which I am leaving tomorrow (^_^)☆ I won't be updating this blog while I'm there, and because of technical issues, I'm not sure if I'll be able to update my social media life during my trip, but I'll try to update the blog ansagoestochina.posterous.com and we'll see how that works.

Easter breakfast

This morning we had breakfast at church, which means we had to be there at 8:30 T.T but I got a croissant, so it was okay. (^_^)☆ I sadly didn't take any photos for obvious reasons, but we had many kinds of fruit, paska, biscuits, scones, breads, eggs and croissants, as well as coffee, tea and bread. No cereal or porridge ( i _ i )but I guess that's the point.

Potato something and paska

Today was a rather simple yet strange lunch. Mumpo had had to take potato salad to the family gathering yesterday, but she had cooked far too many potatoes so she ended up having to use them today. She made a sort of mashed potato-spinach casserole thing in the oven, which was okay (not really my kind of good, but as long as she likes it it's only). Then Liku made curry eggs (short on the salt but otherwise good) and I was asked to make salad. For dessert we had more of the paska, with a cream cheese spread that I had made previously. It wasn't bad, but I still maintain that my favourite simple lunch is miso soup and rice.

Today was our Easter family gathering, so there was a lot of mainstream North American-style food (takes a bit to get adjusted lol) like potato salads and macaroni salads. For dessert there was milk rice (very popular amongst my aunts and uncles) and paska. Mine didn't turn out too badly, thank goodness!

Kashi and bananas

P1265

Today was our family Easter gathering, so I had to both get up relatively early, and eat at an ungodly hour. @(・●・)@ Well, it really wasn't that bad. We still had half a banana left, so I monopolized that for my cereal, and it balanced the sometimes exaggerated crunchiness of the Kashi nicely.

Sushi and pot-luck

Liku and I went to bible study today because of scheduling, and since we were having a pot-luck, I decided to pick up sushi at one of my favourite places, Dae-Gil sushi. So good! On a less enthusiastic note, I still made supper for Mumpo, Apa and Bimp. So that was a bit of a rush. I just made the exact same thing as yesterday, since I didn't have time to be creative. Oh well, no one complained. I wish I'd remembered to take some photos though. (´・_・`)

Strawberries and bananas

P1254

This morning, for a change, I had kashi cereal with banana and strawberry. It was really good! What made it even better, though, was that Liku and I watched her new concert DVD of her favourite band (it had understandably been delayed because of the disasters in Japan). There is nothing like breakfast and rock! (^◇^)
As a side note, unfortunately, I just realized that I made paska yesterday, but completely forgot to take any photos of it, so I can't even really write about it. T.T It took the whole day and since I was using my Oma's recipe, it made seven! They barely fit in the poor oven. Well, at least that's done till next year.
